The communal conservatory of Music and Dance, under the direction of Benoît Delbecque, is a state-approved establishment. This means that it responds to a certain number of criteria established by the Ministry of Culture which guarantee the public the quality of the teaching provided: compulsory disciplines (individual and collective), appropriate accommodations, quality teaching staff, curriculum and teaching content in accordance with the standards in force (master plan).
With its 500 students, it is one of the most important conservatories in the region. One of the strong points of its project is the development of collective practice. For this reason, it offers children numerous orchestras and various ensembles from the first year of instrumental practice.

The CCAS, the communal social action centre, is an establishment with a social vocation which carries out a general action of prevention and social development in the commune. Its mission is to welcome, listen to and guide persons and families in difficulty who ask it to assert their rights and, if necessary, to monitor their situations. It also helps and assists the elderly, the handicapped and children, fights against exclusion and promotes health. It welcomes and carries out its missions on the ground floor of the town hall and in the Wattrelos district town halls (Beaulieu, Sapin Vert), although it is not one of the municipal services of the municipality, such as the registry office or the green spaces, for example: it has its own legal personality, votes its own budget (the town provides an annual subvention), owns its own assets and employs its own staff.
It maintains close links with public and private institutions (CAF, MSA, Departmental Council, associations) and can therefore implement means or structures for consultation and coordination.
